  • Volunteer settlement officer in Los Angeles Superior Court dating back to 1980s—e.g., settled a toxic cleanup case involving eleven carriers at the pleading stage.
  • Completion of courses of study at Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine School of Law
  • Chair, Statewide Association of Business Trial Lawyers Task Force on Discovery Protocols for Business Cases. Friedman conceived the project and worked with complex court judges statewide to develop streamlined discovery protocols for business cases, which were used to formulate a form Case Management Order adaptable to the needs of any case. The CMO is posted on and downloadable (in pdf or Word format) from the ABTL website.
